Northwest Louisiana WiT Chapter Gives Back

Published on October 21, 2025

Last month, the Northwest Louisiana Women in Title Chapter gave back to its community by volunteering at Providence House. Chapter Chair Malissa Schwartz and Chapter Member Chris Noble spent some time assisting in their warehouse sorting and organizating donations.

Providence House is a non-profit located in Shreveport, LA that services families dealing with homelessness. Its mission is to break the homeless cycle one family at a time by providing comprehensive support services for improving the family structure. Not only is this an impactful cause in one of our communities, it's also deeply tied to our industry: protecting and insuring the American Dream of homeownership.

But Malissa's ties to giving back to her community doesn't stop at Providence House. She is also a Community Impact Volunteer with Operation Warm, whose mission is "Providing warmth, confidence, and hope through basic need programs that connect under-resourced children to the community resources they need to thrive." This international organization services the United States and Canada by providing free, brand-new coats and shoes to elementary and middle school children. They also have a sports bra program for middle school and high school girls. The items are manufactured by Operation Warm, and when a school is selected, every student received either shoes, coats, or sports bras. They do it that way so in-need children are not made to feel different. Malissa was able to work an event last month where they provided over 300 new pairs of shoes to a middle school in a small parish near her. "I LOVE WORKING WITH THEM. The hugs, smiles, and gratitude from the students just made my heart melt!"

Operation Warm is always recruiting Community Impact Volunteers like Malissa, and it is a great way for people to get involved in the organization. She will be bringing the organization to her chapter this month as another opportunity to give back to her community and accomplish Women in Title's charitable initiatives for its local chapters.

WiT is such a multifaceted organization but two of our core values were long-established by our Founder and President, Kim Whitlock. She first identified a need in our industry for women to connect and collaborate in a competition-free environment and then insisted that the community she created gives back to the wider community, focused on women and real estate. That's why each and every chapter is challenged to give back at least quarterly to their communities, whether by raising funds, volunteering time, or donating items.

Join WiT in congratulating Malissa, Chris, and the Northwest Louisiana Chapter in giving back, honoring our mission, and being oustanding members of their community. We are so grateful as an organization to be represented by such incredible, inspiring leaders.
